[click! SIGH.]
After some trial and error, I've concluded that I can't fix this in the mirror. I need. Help.
...
Preferably a roboticist. Or a surgeon.
...
Or anyone with decent medical— you know what, I'm not sure I trust any of you.
[There is a bit of a pause. Kim grumbles something uncomplimentary about the boat, canines and the Captain's genetic makeup and sexual history.]
Also there's an animal or something trying to kill people. I think.

I'm sure you're just brimming with usefulness.

I got a few vicodin left. But I'm not giving it away cheap; I can't get any more when this runs out, and I need what I have.

What happened?!

...
I....didn't tell you....about the prosthesis, did I.

Yes, please.
[this is humiliating.]
Do you remember which room is mine?

...
Of course, I am already rather mad, so I Suppose it really wouldn't have been much different, would it?

[she'll just be waiting for you, then.]

[Kim opens the door for Alice, but doesn't stand in front of it, opting instead to hide behind. She isn't wearing a glove on her left hand, so the fingers curling around the edge are distinctly robotic.]
..Hi.
no subject
What on earth are you doing back there? [Alice has seen some odd things in her day, this is really just another notch on the bedpost, to be frank. She peers at those fingers, eyes wide.]
How curiously wonderful!
no subject
People were always freaked out by it.
no subject
Really? I can't imagine why, I think its rather fantastic myself, though I suppose there are some out there that are decidedly afraid of things they just don't understand.
[Kimmy you are getting a very stern look now.]
Now - what bit you, exactly? And what do I need to do?

[She starts to gesture with the mechanical hand, but it jutters unpleasantly, so she drops it again. It's obvious where the damage is.]
There was a shock; I woke up nearly an hour later.
no subject
I see. And your neck is part of this too?
no subject
[and she's blind in that eye, for now.]
no subject
Perhaps you ought to sit.
no subject
I'm not going to faint.
no subject
I most certainly hope not, though I rather think when you say control over your extremities is decreasing that isn't a very god thing.
no subject
...that, and if she helps this person, they'll be in debt to her. Maia likes that thought.]
Would I be correct in assuming you're still in need of assistance?
no subject
And you are?
no subject
Depending on the type of robotics, I should be able to help. Where could I find you?
no subject
no subject
It's Maia.
no subject
For a minute she just looks at Maia, as if daring her to make something of it— the damage is obviously to Kim's neck, if the char and angry red burns are anything to go by. The wolf bit her there and broke the power-contact leading to Kim's eye and neural implant, which shocked them both into unconsciousness. It's located near the back of Kim's neck— an awkward place to run self-maintenance.]
It's nothing major, just a severed power-line, but I can't solder it myself.
no subject
However, first thing's first.]
What should I expect in return for this favour? [Maia doesn't help people unless she gets something out of it.]
no subject
What, you want paid? Money's worthless here.
[Kim was wealthy, back home.]
All I have is information. You've been here longer than me.
no subject
Either way, information will be just fine.
no subject
Fine. Solder first, talk after.
no subject
I assume you have the right equipment?
[Either way, Maia will fix her up. If the information Kim has to give afterward isn't helpful, then it shouldn't be too hard for Maia to simply re-break what she fixed. Of course, that will all depend on what Kim tells her once everything is said and done.]
